The month of May was crazy busy. I ended up going to Vegas and Kansas City for the store. Free Comic Day came and went. And now the year is over half done.
Picked up some Magic cards in Kansas City. We now have a Tarmogoyf and Dark Confidant from Modern Masters, Jace the Mindsculpter, an unopened box of Graveborn, and more in our display case. Already sold one Jace. People that have seen the new cards in stock are very impressed.
This Friday the new multiplayer format for Magic the Gathering Conspiracy comes out. We will be drafting it this Friday at 8. Should be fun!
DC’s two weekly series Batman Eternal and Future’s End are hits. I strongly encourage you to check them out. DC has made them returnable and I took full advantage of that fact and ordered heavily. We have all the issues in stock currently.
Batman 66 Meets the Green Hornet 1 came out this week. Fan of the 60s Adam West Batman T.V. show? Then check it out.

My reorder of Forever Evil is in. We now have a full set of the popular limited series again.
Amazing X Men 8 is also out this week. The title launched strong and has stayed strong after eight issues.
Original Sin 3 arrived this week. Who killed the Watcher? Pick this up to see who the latest murder victim is!
This Saturday at 4 is the Deadpool draft for Heroclixs. Who will win the battle of the Mercs with the Mouths?
Later this month will be the War of Light Heroclix event. Again as a fanboy loving the set. As a retailer no. Seriously having me buy material that I can not sell for months is foolish. Does NECA the owners of Wizkids have any business sense? How would you like to buy a car and then you couldn’t drive it for months even though nothing is wrong with the car? It is just tieing up my money because Wizkids doesn’t want to store product. Basically skipping warehouse cost by having us retailers store it for them. I am to estimate how many people I will have playing for months 2, 4,5, and 6. If I go to low with boosters that I hold on to I will have players that do not get War of Light boosters. If I go to high I just tied up what I could have sold in the first month.
And their prize support is still way overpriced. It is getting to the point where it would be easier and cheaper just to have a box of Days of Future Past counter tops as a prize. It would be roughly 75 percent cheaper and if I wanted to I could easily have one counter top booster for each person who played and then what is left for the first place winner. After War of Light this may very well be what we do.
If you have been following the online news about comics odds are you have heard the rumors that Marvel is distancing themselves from their own Fantastic Four property due to the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Rumor is that Marvel is even canceling their Fantastic Four title. Fox has the rights for the Fantastic Four movie and apparently Marvel and Fox don’t have the best relationship. Rumor is that CEO of Marvel Ike Perlmutterdoes not want to give Fox any extra promotional material. Fox also owns the film rights to X Men but the X Men brand of comics sells to well for Marvel’s publishing division to cancel them. Marvel has even sent out memos to artists doing artwork for upcoming Marvel card sets stating they can not draw any Fantastic Four characters or characters from their titles. Seems a little extreme. I personally doubt that not having a Fantastic Four comic out will harm ticket sales for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. The movie will be a hit or not based on the movie fanbase. Not comic base. Ike seems a little insecure but he is a billionaire so what do I know.
Again at the risk of sounding like a broken record business has sharply increased. Comics are selling very well. If we are out of something please feel free to let us know and we will get it back in for you. Customer service is important to me.
